Amid the pandemic, I found myself unable to visit the cemetery during the traditional Chinese memorial festival in April, a time to honour departed relatives. This situation echoed across families all around the world, leaving many without proper farewells. The abruptness of death and separation leaves neither the departed nor the living prepared. Many cultures depict the deceased as stars ascending to the sky. So how might we make this starry sky accompanies us anywhere, anytime? How might we make provisions for the inevitable parting?

My response takes the form of an app mockup, crafted through Adobe XD. The app's core concept is to encapsulate stars within mobile devices, each representing a departed relative. Each star becomes a canvas for the departed's essence. It offers a way for the living to connect and reminisce. Building upon this idea, I also introduced a feature called the "Land," a realm for communication with the living ones which fortifies the relationships of this universe. Users can also personalize their stars, leaving behind sentiments for their loved ones. This endeavour seeks to extend the ethereal bond and embrace a digital constellation of memories.
