I collaborated with Hang Hang Wang* on this project in 2020 spring, with both of us engaged in the entire design, connection, and production process. The collection is named "SHAN YE," which means "mountain and field" in English, as most of its materials are sourced from these natural settings. This project was based in a rural area in Luoyang City, Henan Province, the initiative involved gathering materials from local farms and homes, co-producing components with regional artisans, and hand-assembling them.

Our goal was to investigate the reuse of agricultural by-products. Starting with a floor lamp crafted from loofah sponge, the project expanded into a furniture ensemble. By utilizing local agricultural materials and discarded items, and collaborating with small-scale local craftsmen, we aimed to achieve sustainable production while reflecting on the impact of large-scale industrial manufacturing and standardized materials on the environment and local economy.
