Is an original design made using fakes still a fake? Plagiarism is still a serious problem in the design industry. I visited some local shops selling fake goods, trying to study the relationship between fake manufacturers and consumers. Manufacturers steal designs and make fakes for higher profits, while consumers choose fakes because of low prices and consumerism. Another situation is that many consumers do not know the so-called "original design" and they are just buying good-looking and cheap products, and directly copying and producing original designs that are successful in the market helps manufacturers reduce the time and cost of development , thus reducing the production cost and selling price
There are good reasons for both supply and demand, but that doesn't mean it's a reasonable phenomenon
This project tries to make some new designs using fake goods as materials. The main body of the bag is made of fake T-shirts and fake skateboard shoes to criticize factories that have the ability to produce quality and original products but choose to plagiarize and produce fakes. The decorative textiles are made of handmade wool felt, with colours inspired by actual consumer scenarios, and the use of coloured wool felt is to cover the big fake logo on the body of the product to demonstrate the complexity of the consumer's psyche.
